This was so worth the wait!
Watching these girls grow as voice talents, Chunx4 getting the multimedia idol ball rolling, the others joining.. It's been such an amazing series.
The coming together with the versions of the chorus for the final song was out of this world, big cudos to the cast. They were all on point.
I'm not sure on the details, if it was pre-render or used mocap but from a technical standpoint the use of Live2D and Cubism for the animations show just how well this type of animation can work how polished it can be compared to the janky 3d insert animation of just a few years ago.
Some of the choreography looked a bit off maybe from a distance during the full 16 member sections but understandable, especially if it actually was mocap used as its entirely possible each unit was captured separately. Still amazing work though.
It's been a blast seeing a relatively accurate (if embelished / dramatacised) depiction of the life of a modern VA in anime form.
We started with multimedia projects in the past like WUG! and Symphogear and early LoveLive, with hand animated characters and the VA's taking the stage IRL to promote them. We evolved through animation mapped to pre-recorded mocap, then to live mocap we see now and things come full circle here.
The girls of Airblue are very much on the journey which the VA's of everything from K-On, LoveLive, Idolm@ster and every similar franchise have been before them right up to our modern live streaming equivalents among Hololive, Nijisanji, Tsunderia and all the independent VA's out there walking the VA/Idol multimedia tightrope.
Shiho is right, all things do eventually come to an end. It's what we do with the time we have that counts.
(disclaimer: I've worked within VA work / mocap multimedia)
Getting another anime adaptation with all of them
Three iterations of the chorus. First with the usual 4x4 groups doing the choreography separately, then with those on the same level joining up into two groups of eight, and finally, with all 16 together. That felt really great :)
Also, massive props for the half of them who literally just had their first-ever performance in this gigantic, jam-packed stadium, yet managed to handle the immense pressure that must've come with it. Like, holy crap.
So, what you're telling me is... only Luna wRabbits has music worth listening to. <_<
Bless you Miharu. . . coming home and the 1st word to hear is ara ara
2 episodes left we see everyone dancing as idols UwU seems cute and cheering!
Hooray
🎉🐲😘🎉🐲😎
At long last, all 16 members performing on stage together and what a performance it is! It really feels like the culmination of everything that this series has built up. Not only is the song is aptly titled “Forever Friends” but the lyrics are surprisingly meaningful too.
Even though it felt like the final episode, the last Blu-ray volume says there’s 24 episodes, so we still have 2 more episodes to go.
Aweee...This episode got me right in the feels. This really has been a sweet little show! You've really gotten to know each of the girls and the triumphs and struggles. I'll certainly miss this show after next week! 😭
Aww, I’m happy for them. <3

Beautiful song. Truly excellent lyrics.
Why are the songs where everyone sings always so emotional in the idol series.
I felt the same as sensei.
And I really know what it is for the fans, when they follow someone form the start and they see them grow this much.
ANIME FOR PROJECT HIMMEL?!
HYPEEEEEEEEE!
I hope the Project Himmel here will actually signalize the restart of the game itself.
Maybe under the Himmel name.
Also these random shitty links being ultra upvoted, what the heck is with that recently.

Absolutely a great song!
The choreography has left me with goosebumps everywhere. So cool!
Riko x Aya are so cute together and Riko with every hair style - either pigtails or hair down.
Maika: "Darling/Honey say something."
Haruna: "I love you err lets give all our best."
That was amazing performance. <3
It was so great to see the girls together on stage.
